When Ruth dropped out of university and went home, she takes up the challenge to prove to her 'educationist' father that degrees are not for everyone.
This is the story of how a young woman found her calling and went to serve her people.
I shot "Ruth", the documentary in Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea. Since it was a one-man crew, I had to take as little gear as possible so I took the RODE VideoMic Pro shotgun. Most of the story was outdoors so I had little control over sound but having the option -10db, I was able to cancel out most of the unattractive background noise. It was mostly handheld shots since we were always moving.
For my BTS interview, the same mic was used.
