Enter My RØDE Reel for a chance to win a New York Film Academy 1-month course with flights & accommodation worth up to $10,000*
Eagle-eyed observers of the extensive prize lists on offer for the 21 categories in the 2016 My RØDE Reel short film competition will have spied a particularly tasty inclusion in two of the categories. For both the Judges’ Film and the Young Filmmaker categories, RØDE Microphones and the New York Film Academy are awarding the two winners the 4-week, full time Filmmaking course at the NYFA international campus of your choice. And RØDE will pick up the bill for the flights and accommodation for up to $10K as well*.
The New York Film Academy was started by veteran producer Jerry Sherlock in 1992 and now has over 20 areas of study – from every aspect of Filmmaking to Broadcast Journalism to 3D Animation to Film Acting to Game Design – available at more than 15 locations around the world, including New York (naturally), Los Angeles, South Beach in Florida, and Sydney and on the Gold Coast in Australia. Check the full location list from the drop-down menu found here.
NYFA alumni include talent across every aspect of the business, from television (The Walking Dead star Alana Masterson; CBS News’ Nour Idriss), film (The Magnificent Seven star Manuel Garcia-Rulfo; Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ visual effects artist Franceso Panzieri; Academy Award-winning sound designer for Mad Max: Fury Road, Ben Osmo) and many, many more.
This is the first time the NYFA has sponsored My RØDE Reel, and it couldn’t be a more apt association. The 4-week Filmmaking course is the perfect launchpad into the next phase of your career; an intensive, hands-on experience where students write-shoot-edit three short films of increasing complexity, made possible by classes in directing, producing, cinematography, writing and editing. Powerful stuff.
To be in the mix for this exceptional filmmaker’s prize, be sure to get you’re My RØDE Reel entry in before 12pm Australian Eastern Standard Time, June 1, 2016. Check out MyRodeReel.com to be involved.
